Teri has been an executive assistant for almost three decades and has always been progressive in her view of the role. She began her career as a student employee at the Department of Personnel of the State of Nevada during her senior year of high school and as an administrative assistant to the Dean at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she obtained her dual B.A. degrees in English Literature and Psychology. Upon graduating, the university offered her assistant roles in both the admissions and athletic departments. Her first non-university role was as an executive assistant to the CFO at Deeside Trading, Inc., which manufactured high-end luggage and handbags with factories in Florence and Milan, Italy. In 1999, Teri moved to San Francisco and dove into the dot.com industry, assisting investment bankers in real estate and biotechnology at JP Morgan. Ultimately, she focused her career in biotechnology supporting C-Level executives at Biogen, Facet Biotech, and NuVasive.

Years of supporting innovative and strategic executives taught Teri the importance of written communication, strategic planning, leadership and development, process improvement, and fostering culture. All of this experience assists her creative projects including ghostwriting memoirs, upmarket fiction, and children’s picture books. In Teri’s own words,

“Everything is a matter of process. If you’re an executive assistant and you have dreams beyond your current role, identify the process of your dream and start taking the steps, large or small, in that direction.”
